Custom Plastic Fabrication Materials
We offer a wide range of CNC machining materials, including metal alloys, plastics, wood, and composites, carefully selected for strength, durability, and cost. Our engineers provide DFM guidance to optimize your plastic and metal parts design for manufacturing.
Acrylic (PMMA)
A transparent, rigid thermoplastic known for excellent optical clarity, UV resistance, and weatherability. Easy to laser-cut, bend, and polish. Widely used for signage, displays, protective guards, and architectural panels.
Acrylic (PMMA)
A high-impact transparent thermoplastic with 250 times the impact strength of glass. Offers excellent heat resistance and dimensional stability. Ideal for safety glazing, machine guards, electronic enclosures, and automotive components.
PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride)
A cost-effective, rigid, and chemically resistant plastic available in white, grey, and transparent forms. Offers good flame retardancy and electrical insulation. Commonly used for chemical tanks, ductwork, signage, and building materials.
HDPE (High-Density Polyethylene)
A lightweight, moisture-resistant thermoplastic with excellent chemical resistance and low friction. FDA-compliant grades available for food contact. Used for cutting boards, tanks, playground equipment, and marine components.
ABS
A tough, impact-resistant engineering plastic with good machinability and thermoforming properties. Easily painted and glued. The go-to material for prototypes, housings, automotive trim, and consumer goods enclosures.
PETG
A transparent, food-safe thermoplastic combining the clarity of acrylic with the impact strength of polycarbonate. Easy to thermoform and fabricate. Used for point-of-purchase displays, medical devices, and packaging.
Nylon / Polyamide (PA)
A strong, wear-resistant engineering plastic with low friction and good mechanical strength. Absorbs moisture, which increases toughness. Widely used for gears, bearings, bushings, fasteners, and high-wear mechanical components.
Delrin / Acetal (POM)
A rigid, low-friction engineering plastic with excellent dimensional stability, creep resistance, and fatigue endurance. Ideal for precision-machined parts. Used for gears, rollers, valves, conveyor components, and electrical insulators.
PEEK
A premium high-performance engineering plastic with exceptional heat resistance (up to 250°C), chemical resistance, and mechanical strength. Biocompatible and sterilizable. Used in aerospace, medical implants, semiconductor, and oil & gas applications.
Custom Plastic Fabrication Surface Finishes
Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Ut elit tellus, luctus nec ullamcorper mattis, pulvinar dapibus leo.
As-Machined (Standard Fabrication)
The default finish from CNC machining plastic stock (Delrin, nylon, HDPE, ABS). Visible linear tool path scallop marks across machined surfaces with a matte plastic sheen. No secondary operation suitable for functional components, jigs, fixtures, and internal parts where cosmetic appearance is secondary to dimensional accuracy.
Flame Polished
Quick post-fabrication process that passes a controlled flame over acrylic (PMMA) cut edges, melting the surface micro-layer to produce a crystal-clear, glossy, transparent edge. Fast and cost-effective for acrylic sheet edges produces optical clarity on cut borders without the labor of hand polishing. Ideal for display cases, signage, and acrylic enclosures.
Vapor Polished
Post-fabrication chemical process that exposes transparent plastic parts (acrylic, PC, PETG) to solvent vapor, melting and smoothing the surface micro-layer to dramatically improve optical clarity and gloss. Removes machining lines and produces crystal-clear transparent parts — essential for prototype lenses, light guides, display windows, fluidic chambers, and medical components requiring optical transparency.
Hand Polished / Buffed
Post-fabrication manual polishing with progressively finer abrasive compounds and buffing wheels, removing machining tool marks, scratches, and surface imperfections to produce a smooth glossy finish. Labor-intensive but flexible ideal for custom fabricated plastic parts where automated polishing is not feasible or where localized defect removal and cosmetic refinement are needed for presentation-quality components.
Sanded / Matte Finish
Post-fabrication sanding with progressively finer grit sandpaper (typically 240–600 grit) produces a uniform low-gloss matte non-reflective surface. Hides machining marks, scratches, and surface inconsistencies while providing a soft tactile feel. Used for HDPE, UHMW, and nylon components where a durable, non-glare, fingerprint-resistant matte appearance is desired for industrial and functional parts.
Laser Cut Edge
CO2 or fiber laser cutting of plastic sheet (acrylic, PETG, polycarbonate) produces a clean, smooth, slightly heat-polished fused edge with no mechanical burrs. The laser beam melts and vaporizes the material, leaving a glossy transparent edge on acrylic — often requiring no secondary polishing. Ideal for intricate cutouts, signage, display components, and precision sheet fabrication.
Heat Formed / Bent
Thermoforming process that heats plastic sheet (acrylic, polycarbonate, ABS) to its glass transition temperature and bends it over a form tool to create precise angles and curved shapes. Produces clean, smooth bend radii with consistent surface finish no tool marks at the bend. Used for display stands, guards, enclosures, signage, and custom fabricated parts requiring 3D formed shapes from flat sheet stock.
Solvent Welded / Cemented
Assembly process that uses solvent cement (e.g., dichloromethane for acrylic) to chemically bond plastic parts at the molecular level, creating a seamless, invisible, transparent joint with no mechanical fasteners or adhesive lines. Produces strong, leak-proof bonds for acrylic tanks, display cases, enclosures, and fluidic devices. The joint is as clear and strong as the parent material when properly executed.
Painted / Screen Printed
Post-fabrication spray painting in any custom color (matte, satin, gloss, metallic) followed by screen printing or pad printing for logos, labels, buttons, and graphics. Applied over a primed plastic surface for uniform color and adhesion. Allows custom fabricated plastic parts to match production aesthetics widely used for control panels, instrument faces, enclosures, and marketing/showcase components requiring exact brand color and graphic printing.
Textured / Embossed
Custom surface texture created by CNC engraving, chemical etching, or embossing to produce raised or recessed patterns (diamond grip, leather grain, stipple, geometric designs) on plastic surfaces. Adds tactile grip, hides scratches, and provides a premium custom feel. Used for grip panels, handle covers, consumer product housings, and any custom fabricated plastic part requiring a specific textured surface for ergonomic, anti-slip, or aesthetic purposes.
